By Road from Delhi

Binsar Forest Retreat can be reached by road from Delhi in 10 – 12 hours. The Binsar Sanctuary Gate (which you have to cross to reach us) remains closed from sunset (5.00 in winter; 7.00 in summer) to sunrise. Please plan accordingly.

From Delhi to Bhowali

Delhi – Ghaziabad – Hapur – Gajraula – Moradabad – Rampur – Bazpur – Kaladhungi.

From Kaladhungi to Bhowali, there are 2 routes:

  1. Kaladhungi – Nainital – Bhowali: this is the shortest route and also more scenic. But you have to pass Nainital town on this route, and if you are travelling during a long weekend, the route via Haldwani may take less time.
  2. Kaladhungi – Haldwani – Bhimtal – Bhowali

From Bhowali to Almora

Bhowali – Khairna – Garampani – Kwarab – Almora

From Almora to Binsar

Take the road towards Takula and Bageshwar (there is another Binsar towards Ranikhet, a more popular temple, which should be avoided).

The route is: Almora – Kasaar Devi – Kaffarkhan – Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary gate.

From Kaffarkhan, Binsar sanctuary gate is about 3 km. It will be on the right side of the road. Please call us when you reach the Sanctuary gate. Entry formalities (with the Forest department) have to be done here. After completing the formalities, please proceed towards TRH Binsar. About 6 km from the gate, you will arrive at an open ground on the right and a few buildings on the left. These are the first buildings along the road as you come up. Our car, a green coloured Bolero Camper with registration UK 01 A 0292, will be waiting for you here. Mohan will pick you up and also show you where to park your car.
